

Brian Sand
Trumpet
Dr. Brian Sand has performed trumpet with many of Canada’s leading symphonic ensembles including l'Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, National Arts Centre Orchestra, McGill Chamber Orchestra, SMCQ, Edmonton Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic and the Victoria Symphony. In addition to symphonic work Dr. Sand has also performed in several musicals, jazz ensembles, pit orchestras, operas, ballets, chamber ensembles, summer festivals and has been featured as soloist throughout Canada and the U.S.
Dr. Sand studied trumpet privately with many of the finest performers of our time. As an educator Dr. Sand has taught in several K-12 schools and has been on the faculties of McGill University, McGill Conservatory, Music Academy of the West, Grant MacEwan University, Alberta College Conservatory and Memorial University of Newfoundland where he served as Music Director for the MUN Jazz Ensemble.
Dr. Sand has adjudicated for several festivals and presented masterclasses and clinics at hundreds of high schools, colleges and universities throughout North America. In addition to trumpet Dr. Sand has studied and taught voice, conducting and music education at several institutions throughout North America.
