Shane's musical journey starting at the age of 10 on alto saxophone in the Regina Lions community band. He caught the jazz bug after seeing Dexter Gordon in the film Round Midnight at age 12. This love of jazz led to his studies in Toronto where studied jazz with jazz giants Pat Labarbera, Don Thompson, Hilario Duran, Alex Dean and Ted Quilian at Humber College (Jazz Performance and Composition). After making Calgary home, he has been honoured and privileged to perform with many amazing local, national, and international musicians.
